What can we do for you?

Website design

Websites come in all different shapes and sizes that are determined by your needs, your visitors’ needs and your budget.

There are so many options available that no two websites we design are ever the same (unless they’re meant to be!), so to simplify things we’ve categorised the websites we build into six main types.

Of course that doesn’t mean to say if the website you’re after isn’t listed here we can’t provide it, so to find out just contact us.

Single page websites

Single page websites

Less is more! Some businesses don’t need to have a large website when a single page will do. If you just need people to be able to find out how to contact you then this may be is all you need. Quick and easy to manage, a single page website will give you a good online presence, then when you’re ready to add more they are flexible enough to expand.

Content Management Systems (CMS)

Content Management Systems (CMS)

More or less, it’s up to you. With a CMS website you can create as many pages as you like at the click of a button. We build small scale CMS websites in WordPress because it’s easy for our clients to update their own pages – so easy that if you know how to write and send an email then you’ll be able to use WordPress too.

Online shops for e-commerce

Online stores aren’t just for selling goods! You can sell anything, whether it’s your time, file downloads or even memberships. The stores we build include catalogue managers and customer databases vital for keeping buyers coming back for more.

Directory websites

Directory websites

If you have many items to list then put them in a directory that’s easy to search and manage. It could be a list of businesses, clubs, properties or members and you can even make money from it by charging for sign ups.

Blogging and social websites

Blogging and Social Websites

Facebook now has 30 million users in the UK alone, just proving how the power of social websites can work to bring groups of people together. Now you can run your own social website to bring people together for clubs, interests, sport, networking or any purpose. You can control who joins with member management facilities and keep them up to date with announcements and news.

Micro-blogging website design

Micro-blogging, Twitter-style

Micro-blogging websites like Twitter are hugely popular for quickly making announcements and keeping in touch. With your own Twitter-style website you can tailor it for a particular purpose and with paid advertising and affiliate links the potential for profit is huge. We set up our own micro-blog as an experiment and the response was phenomenal, over 2000 posts in the first week alone!

Search engine optimisationGo to top of page

If you’re not getting many or even any visitors to your website then the chances are it’s not appearing on web search engines like Google. But don’t worry, that can change within days when we begin some Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to your website. By applying certain changes to the pages of your website we will dramatically improve how close to the top of web searches it appears on the major search engines.

Search engine optimisation results

What changes do we make?

Working with you, we identify why people would want to visit your website. We then use this to choose the words and phrases visitors will type into a search engine and then make changes to your website based on these. Along with this we make many other improvements, changing the website code, adding links, creating sitemaps – in short as much as it takes to improve your ranking.

Track visitors to your website

Track visitors to you website

As part of the service we register your website with Google analytics so that you can view the results of the optimisation. Using analytics you are able to view visitor numbers, pages viewed, visitor location and much more. This information can then be used to further refine the optimisation.

The design processGo to top of page

We’ve been designing websites for more than 10 years so we know a thing or two about how to make them a success. A good website design is easy to achieve if you know what you are doing. Keep it simple and design with your customer in mind.

Wireframe website design

1. Start with a functional layout

The key to a website’s success is making sure your visitors can use it easily. By planning where key information goes on the page you can help your visitors move through your website the way you want them to. We start with a ‘wireframe’ design of the page showing you where page elements will be placed. Once this is correct we can then work on how it looks.

Good website design

2. Create a great looking design

Not only should your website be easy to use but it should also look attractive. Your visitors will decide within seconds whether they will stay or click away – and you need to persuade them to stick around. With a good looking page you can tell your visitors your services will be equally as good.

Accessible and mobile website design

3. Make sure everyone can use it

Not everyone uses the same type of computer and web browser to view your website and some people won’t even be using a computer at all but a mobile phone instead. With a predicted increase of mobile web browsing of 50% in 2011 we have to ensure that your website works well however it’s viewed. Likewise not everyone will interact with your website in the same way. Some visitors will have poor vision or movement so the design will have to work with thier needs and is now required to by law.

Website help and support

4. And that also includes you!

Websites can be frustrating if you don’t know how to use and update them and although the websites we build are easy to use we’ll make sure you’ll always have the help you need to use it. When your website is ready we’ll show you how to use it and provide you with an instruction guide. Later when you may need extra help you can call or email us with your questions and if you ever get really stuck we can connect to your computer and show you exactly what to do.
